Wiregrass Georgia Technical College AES IET Coordinator (FT) in Valdosta, Georgia

AES IET Coordinator will serve as a liaison between the adult education program, postsecondary education, Workforce Investment Boards (WIBs), community service agencies, and local business/industry to provide integrated education and training (IET) services (e.g. IndustryReady, college tours, job fairs, mentoring, job coaching) and workplace literacy training. Coordinate and facilitate regularly scheduled IET courses. Build a network of business and industry contacts to develop new Workplace Literacy partnerships and classes. Build a network of community contacts to assist students in relieving barriers to successfully graduating. In collaboration with instructional staff, track student's progress for academic success. Deliver the GeorgiaBest curriculum to IET and Workplace Literacy students.

This position may involve day and evening hours and will require regular travel within the service area. This position will start July 2024. This position can be housed in Valdosta, Coffee, or Ben Hill-Irwin Campuses.

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, Regular use of college owned or personal vehicle for performance of duties.
  • Working Conditions: Category III - No foreseen exposure to hazardous chemicals/pathogens. Probability of working beyond the normal shift, but not frequently. Periodic travel between major Wiregrass campuses and satellite sites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Education or a closely related field. Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, computer, and organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS In addition to meeting all other minimum qualifications, the highly desired candidate will possess one or more of the following: Prior experience (paid or unpaid) with Adult Education Services is a plus. Prior experience conducting soft skills training is a plus.

SALARY/BENEFITS Salary is $47,000/yr. This position is full-time and includes standard State of GA benefits such as leave accrual, options for health and other supplemental benefits, and retirement. This position may qualify the successful candidate for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. This position is funded in whole or in part by AES Federal funds.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS Pursuant to college policy, a thorough background investigation, including a criminal history records check and employment history reference checks will be performed for all candidates offered employment. Other checks such as Motor Vehicle Records may be conducted for any candidate receiving an offer, as well as internal candidates prior to being promoted or transferred into a position with the college. Other Required Tests: No additional tests are required for this position.
