Description

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to become a part of our team in Solano Couty, California. In this position, you will manage and oversee daily accounting operations, with a focus on the specific financial aspects of the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the general ledger, including reconciliation and management of month-end close processes.

• Handle project-based accounting tasks, including tracking of job costs, budgeting, and analysis.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and industry standards while preparing percentage-of-completion revenue recognitions.

• Generate and analyze variance in Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports.

• Monitor construction project profitability, identify cost-saving opportunities, and track overhead allocation.

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll in accordance with project timelines.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports, ensuring their accuracy and timely delivery.

• Collaborate with project managers to provide financial insights and guidance for ongoing projects.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, subcontractor agreements, and lien waivers.

• Work with external auditors on annual audits, providing detailed project-level reporting as required.

• Mentor and guide entry level accounting staff, promoting detail oriented development and teamwork.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in accounting within the construction or manufacturing industry

• Proficient in Account Reconciliation, ensuring that account balances are accurate

• Demonstrated experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations to prevent discrepancies

• Ability to manage General Ledger including maintaining records and summarizing transactions

• Comfortable in preparing Journal Entries to record financial transactions

• Expertise in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting

• Experience in executing Month End Close procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting

• Knowledge of Sage Timberline Software for accounting and financial management purposes
