NY1502800 School Bus Assistant needed for Durham School Services in Utica, NY. Part Time.

RATE OF PAY: Starting at $16.55 per hour.

Job Description: Reports to duty on time and performs all tasks and responsibilities in a safe manner, per company policy. Aides the bus driver with the safe transportation of students, to include - boarding, departure, seating, movement, management and care of the students while they are being transported to and from school and school events. Monitors the students at all times to ensure safety regulations and student conduct rules are followed. Exercises and maintains effective student behavior management through positive communication, progressive counseling and any needed disciplinary action per company policy. Serves as a role model to students in demonstrating a positive attitude, good moral character, and high level of integrity. Must display a high level of professionalism and diplomacy while dealing with students and while coming into contact with parents, school officials, and fellow employees. Reports to work wearing proper attire and safety wear, befitting to the position. Attends all assigned safety and training meetings and in-service programs. Assists with the cleaning and general upkeep of the interior of the bus, promoting safety, health and well-being. Performs other duties as pertinent and assigned.

Qualifications: Requirements Include: Must be at least 19 years of age. Experience working with children is recommended, but not required. Must undergo preliminary physical exam, drug test and TB skin test and meet physical and medical requirements per NYS school bus transportation standards. Must exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to relate and work well with children. Must pay a high degree of attention to detail. Must possess a considerable amount of physical acuity and dexterity to safely move around the bus, while tending to students needs.
