The Department of Computer Science at SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly) invites applicants for multiple tenured/tenure-track Computer Science faculty positions beginning Fall 2025.

The department is seeking inspirational, engaging and dynamic colleagues ready to take an active role in the growth and direction of our departmental programs while leveraging research and industry trends/connections to ensure our students gain the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to pursue advanced degrees or successful industry careers. CS Department faculty are a collaborative group and welcome junior faculty to direct significant change, affording those in this position a unique opportunity to shape the future of our programs and offerings. Department faculty also guide our students in undergraduate capstones and graduate projects and theses, an opportunity for students to apply their acquired skills in real-world applications or explore hands-on research. Further, SUNY Poly faculty engage in industry collaboration and community outreach.

The Department of Computer Science at SUNY Poly offers Bachelor of Science programs in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Applied Computing. The department also offers a Master of Science program in Computer Science and an accelerated BS/MS in Computer Science. Additionally, the department leads courses that serve students from many other campus programs and colleges and is actively involved in several capital efforts set to further improve departmental facilities.

The university has substantive growth in areas including computing and cybersecurity, robotics, materials and advanced manufacturing, AI, data science & analytics, smart infrastructure/sustainability, healthcare and wellbeing. Description of Duties:

  • Develop, maintain, and teach courses in the department's undergraduate and graduate programs

  • Build a scholarly research program incorporating undergraduate and graduate students

  • Develop an externally funded research program

  • Advise students on academic matters

  • Serve the college and community

  • Other reasonable duties as assigned

Salary: Assistant Professor $125,000 - $135,000 / Associate Professor $135,000 - $145,000

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants for this position must have a PhD or ABD in Computer Science (or closely related discipline) from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization
