Description of Duties:

The Administrative Assistant 1 ensures the efficiency of the College of Engineering by performing a wide range of administrative tasks related to correspondence, files, and calendar management. This position fields questions from faculty, students, and staff in the College of Engineering. The Administrative Assistant 1 is responsible for gathering information, compiling reports, and issuing correspondence pertaining to the college of Engineering.

  • Assisting faculty in daily activities and with class management issues

  • Manage all aspects of the College of Engineering's Kunsela Hall office. Including maintaining supplies, reception services, copier maintenance and operation and record keeping. Work with the College of Engineering Dean, Chairs and coordinators in Kunsela Hall

  • Interface with Banner including entering student information, releasing holds, providing permissions and entering plans of study

  • Provide support for the College of Engineering Dean and Kunsela Hall faculty including reviewing travel forms, filling out purchase requisitions and working on projects as assigned by the Dean

  • Assist students as needed with setting up appointments, obtaining student folders and other needs

  • Interact with visitors and provide a welcoming presence in the office

  • Complete professional training offered by ITS or through the CSEA training portal as available

    Salary Range: Administrative Assistant 1 (Trainee) - $39,215 / Administrative Assistant 1 - $46,306

    Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Administrative Assistant 1 or Secretary 1, SG-11.

Section 70.1 Transfer to Administrative Assistant 1: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-09 or above deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law AND completion of all mandatory core coursework**.

Section 70.1 Transfer to Administrative Assistant Trainee 1: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-06 or above deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Section 70.1 Transfer to Administrative Assistant Trainee 2: Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-08 or above deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law AND completion of all Year One mandatory core coursework**.
