Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to join our team on either the 1st or 2nd shift. The successful candidate will machine details from plate or flat stock according to blueprints to exact dimensions and various shapes and materials. Our production includes hot runners for the plastic injection industry, consisting of various materials such as steel, copper, and nickel. You will operate a Haas 3 axis Lathe, perform setups, make tool changes, and edit G&M codes for feeds and speeds. Additionally, you will conduct quality inspections of each part using micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Operate Haas 3 axis Lathe

• Perform setup and tool changes

• Edit G&M codes for feeds and speeds

• Conduct quality inspections using micrometers and calipers

• Read and interpret blueprints

• Measure parts to ensure conformance

• Replace tool inserts when required

• Perform routine machine maintenance

• Work independently and in a dynamic work environment

Essential Skills

• 3 years of CNC Lathe setup and operation experience

• Strong understanding of G & M codes

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints

• Proficiency with digital micrometers and calipers

• Experience with editing G&M codes in Haas or Fanuc controls

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Programming experience on CNC from a print using templates/Macros/parametric

• Experience in quality control

Work Environment

Our facility, built in 2019, is clean and climate-controlled. We have multiple cafes and a workout room for employees. The 1st shift operates from 7am to 3:30pm or 5:30pm when busy, with occasional Saturday shifts from 7am to 1pm. The 2nd shift runs from 7pm to 3:30am or 5:30am when busy, currently at 48 hours per week, with a 10% shift premium. Additional Saturday hours are from 2pm to 8pm for the 2nd shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
