Function
Medicaid Project Management Specialist:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Project Management and OMI Leadership, the Project Specialist will assist the Office of Medicaid Innovation (OMI) with day-to-day management of projects and initiatives between the University of Illinois System and the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS). The Project Management Specialist will develop their knowledge and experience with project management to support multiple ongoing Project Orders to ensure that the goals and deliverables of the interagency agreements are met.
Medicaid Project Management Coordinator:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Project Management, the Project Management Coordinator (PMC) will assist the Office of Medicaid Innovation (OMI) with day-to-day management of projects between the University of Illinois System and the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS). The PMC will use their knowledge and experience with project management and leadership skills to manage the work of multiple ongoing projects or engagements to ensure that the goals and deliverables of the Interagency (IA) agreements are met.
Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is Illinois\' single state Medicaid agency and the state organization responsible for administering Illinois\' Medical Assistance and Child Support programs.

Medicaid Project Management Specialist/Medicaid Project Management Coordinator
Duties and Responsibilities
Medicaid Project Management Specialist:
- Provide program knowledge and expertise of procedures, technical specifications, related to Medicaid Project Order activities
- Assist in the development and administration of Medicaid programs, and special projects.
- Act as a point of contact with University of Illinois departments and HFS
- Support various aspects of project management, including creating project documents/artifacts, project schedules, leading meetings, managing and documenting risk register, backlogs, etc
- Support the management of resources, determination and supervision of staff functions; assists in the recruitment, training, and management of work related to Medicaid Project Orders
- Share and support OMI operating policies and processes.
- Participate in departmental objectives and long-range planning.
- Assist in the development of management reports, analyses, data aggregation related to unit projects.
- Other duties as assigned
Medicaid Project Management Coordinator:
- Provide program/project technical content knowledge and deploy various project management methodologies to support in the delivery of OMI Project Order tasks/deliverables
- Assist in the development and administration of Medicaid programs and special projects.
- Support various aspects of project management, including creating project plans, documents/artifacts, project schedules, leading meetings, managing and documenting risk register, backlogs, etc.
- Oversee the development of Business and Use Cases in support of project/engagement initiation
- Act as a point of contact with University of Illinois departments and HFS
- Support in the management of project related resources and project work product delivery; assists in the recruitment, training, and management of Project Management Office (PMO) staff Share and support OMI operating policies and processes..
- Lead in the development of management reports, analyses, and data collection related to project performance
- Coach staff in the application of waterfall and agile project management methodologies
- Other duties as assigned
Education
Medicaid Project Management Specialist:
Bachelor\'s degree.
A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of project management, Medicaid policy, healthcare, and/or general operations. (Note: Master\'s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)
Based on position requirements, additional education, training, and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position, may be required.

Bachelor\'s degree.
A total of three (3) years (36 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of project management, Medicaid policy, healthcare, and/or general operations (Note: Master\'s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the posit
