TEKsystems RF Technician in Upper Marlboro, Maryland

Description:

Our client is one of the largest Telecommunication vendors in DMV and has a large presence across the East Coast. They provide full turnkey solutions for both wireless and wireline sectors. Their wireless sectors are split up into a few groups, but ultimately support the major carriers.

This RF Technician will be supporting wireless small cell and ODAS deployments within the DMV for the major carriers (Mainly PG county/NOVA). They will be working in teams of 2-4 and Lead Techs will have a helper or vice versa. They will be responsible for the mounting/testing of all RRH (Remote Radios Heads) and Antennas (no implementation will be necessary at this time). They will be mounting the systems, performing alignment, and testing utilizing OTDR, Power Meters, and Spectrum Analyzers. This will include Shell Work/upgrades, 5G antennas, pre-builds in warehouse, and possible trial periods. There will be a customer interaction portion to these deployments as well so need to be professional. Candidates can expect to be utilized to support rooftop builds as well.

A ton of this work will be supporting a carrier with their very aggressive 2025 build plan for 5G upgrades across towers and roof tops. Once this candidate gets their foot in the door they can go in many different directions within the company to include Tower, Embedded Integration, ODAS, IDAS, etc.

Top Skills Details:

  1. 2+ years of experience performing small cell installation, testing and troubleshooting (DOT cleared, OSHA 10)

  2. Experience mounting RF equipment not limited to antennas, remote radio heads, etc.

  3. Experience performing PIM/sweep testing, and working with OTDR/spectrum analyzers (ability to text coax)
