Level Green is now hiring a mechanic for its Upper Marlboro location. As a mechanic you will be responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance for company assets such as trucks and trailers, repairing small and two cycle engines, hydraulics, snow removal equipment and conventional gasoline & diesel engines. This person will help to ensure that all Company assets are repaired and put back into service as quickly as possible.
Job Description: We're seeking a versatile, experienced mechanic proficient in repairing and maintaining heavy duty engines and diesel equipment. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive skill set to handle a wide range of engine types and sizes.
Requirements
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain large engines e.g., Isuzu and Ford trucks, skid loaders and front-end wheel loaders.
Specialize in diesel engine repair and maintenance for various equipment types
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on all engine types
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel injection systems
Perform brake repairs
Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Maintain accurate service records
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures
Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized parts inventory room.
Ability to change oil, hydraulic fluid, and all necessary fluids in a variety of different equipment.
Service and repair knowledge of commercial stand-on mowers is beneficial.
Demonstrates basic knowledge of small-engine and heavy equipment repair.
Assist with small engine and 2-cycle diagnosis and repairs.
Qualifications:
Ability to Manage Time and Workload Effectively.
Good communication skills with the ability to understand and follow directions.
Extensive knowledge of landscape and snow and ice equipment.
Eagerness to learn and willingness to receive on the job training.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Demonstrates independent action and resourcefulness on the job. Performs duties in an acceptable manner and with minimal supervision.
Proficiency with mechanical and electronic diagnostic tools
Knowledge of tire repair and maintenance.
Ability to use common mechanical tools.
Well organized individual with a positive attitude
Must be able to keep a clean work area, communicate well and be able to multi-task.
Remain self-motivated and deliver work product that is detail oriented and reflects Company quality standards.
This position requires overtime from time to time. Also, weekend work is required when necessary.
Welding experience preferred.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy components
Valid and current driver's license and ability to maintain a clean driving record.
Relevant certifications (e.g., ASE) preferred
Must provide your own tools
