DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Health Choices Accountant 2, you will be responsible for fiscal oversight and management of the HealthChoices program. Health Choices is a state program that provides medical assistance to eligible persons, behavioral health services through a full risk, prepaid capitated mandated managed care program. General responsibilities include planning and administering the budget; accounting for program transactions; monitoring revenue and expenditures; preparing and distributing internal and external financial reports; maintaining contract with the state, county, and provider personnel as required; and providing a financial support function to the program office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Accountant I; or Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting. Four years of bookkeeping experience and 18 college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation. Other Requirements: You must meet the PA residency requirement. Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
