JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Electrical Engineering within the College of Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University in conjunction with the Smart Networking and Computing (SNeC) Lab invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct research at the intersection of networking, machine learning, and system development, with applications to collaborative virtual/augmented/mixed reality, digital twins, mobile edge computing, and Internet of Things.

Requirements: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field by the appointment date. Significant research expertise in machine learning and system development is highly desired. The applicants should be strongly motivated, able to work independently, and have excellent collaborative abilities.

Responsibilities: The Postdoctoral Scholar will assist Prof. Bin Li with research on problems at the intersection of networking, machine learning, and system development, with applications to collaborative virtual/augmented/mixed reality, digital twins, mobile edge computing, and Internet of Things. Additionally, the Postdoctoral Scholar will work alongside graduate students to prepare research reports for relevant sponsored research contracts and participate in proposal writing for new funding opportunities. Moreover, the Postdoctoral Scholar will prepare and present research results at domestic and international conferences and is expected to publish findings in conference proceedings and technical journal articles.

This is a term appointment, funded for one year from the date of hire, with a possibility of renewal.
