JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: TheClearinghouse for Military Family Readiness (Clearinghouse)at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, is seeking applications for a non-tenure trackAssistant Research Professorto assist in the content development, implementation, dissemination, and evaluation of community-based programs, projects, and services across the public and private sector.

The Clearinghouse is an applied research center, nationally recognized for its work on improving the health and well-being of military service members and their families. Projects focus on topics such as parenting, building family resilience, preventing family violence, enhancing child and youth development, suicide prevention, obesity prevention, evaluation of mental health treatments, veteran transitions from military to civilian life, and families at risk, among numerous others.

Role: The Assistant Research Professor will assist with program content development and evaluation efforts related to the Thrive Portfolio of parent-education programsand will support sponsored award and grant deliverables. This position will assist with the development of curriculum content for secondary prevention programming, supplemental universal prevention program content, content for professionals who work with families, and the evaluation of Thrive programming efforts. This position will help author content for program needs, including curriculum content, parent-education modules, professional-learning modules, and associated resources; and design and implement process and outcome evaluations of universal and secondary prevention parenting programs. Successful candidates will be expected to develop briefings and present reports to partners and other stakeholders, as well as generate paper and conference presentations.

Education and Experience: Successful candidates for this position are required to have a Ph.D. in a Social Science related field with demonstrated experience and expertise in family science and child development. Preference will be given to applicants who have clinical or home visitation experience. Prior experience with program evaluation, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, and proficiency in using statistical programs such as R, SAS, SPSS, Stata and/or MAXQDA or Nvivo is strongly preferred.

Work Arrangement:This position offers a flexible work arrangement and can operate remotely or in a hybrid model within the U.S. Standard EST work times.

This is a term appointment funded for one year from the hire date, with an excellent possibility of renewal.
