Position Overview

The Area Manager, Food Distribution Center will be driving the food operations, expansion in partnership with the food partners and licensees for NBC Universal business. This individual will support the business head NBC Universal in developing the food operations strategy, and play a critical role in planning, processes, and food partner expansion initiatives, that eventually boost the NBC Universal business results and growth. This role will also be expected to be the expert with food safety procedures, to explore the best potential opportunities to drive business growth.

The ideal candidate will have food warehouse expertise, knowledge of food safety, quality and assurance, and the ability to build cohesive teams. They will have established relationships with major 3PL markets, outstanding collaboration and coordination skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and the breadth of skills required to help lead internal and external partners to execute key initiatives & drive the overall growth of NBC Universal business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with food operations, sourcing, and external suppliers to ensure the smooth flow of incoming raw materials, including packaging, and finished product to the FDC to ensure company service level expectations are exceeded.

  • Direct the activities and productivity of the FDC through KPIs thereby meeting budgetary objectives.

  • Partner with NBCUniversal Logistics to improve transportation costs/COGS.

  • Partner with sourcing and our vendors to optimize receiving operations, especially with regards to overseas vendors

  • Partner with our Quality Assurance team to ensure that FDC is meeting code related and best practices for safe food handling (HACCP, Vender Quality Assurance Program is being adhered to, etc.)

  • Partner with Business Analytics & Industrial Engineering, IT & Environmental Health & Safety teams in identifying infrastructure improvements to support USH’ strategic objectives and improves inventory turns, food safety, transaction accuracy, team member safety, and cold chain logistics.

  • Develop a long-term strategic plan on TM development thru training and recognition that results in the following: improved inventory controls from goods received thru production, delivery/transfers, and improved cycle count inventory to obsolescence. Oversee the development and motivation of FDC associates to improve completion of tasks, reduce human errors thereby improving inventory Control, DC organization, and goods receipt/invoice processing.

  • Partner with Operations Management, Production Kitchen and Bakery, Sourcing, and IT to maximize operational efficiencies.

  • Develop strong partnership with LP, Compliance and Safety to improve operational processes and maintain the highest level of integrity with regards to inventory, safety and food handling requirements as mandated by State law.

  • Aligns new IP and license for venues and create compelling launches.

  • Maintains harmony and efficient relationships with key business partners and park operations platforms for best deliveries.

  • Creates and coordinates the food warehouse budget process with functional team strategies to ensure all expenses are under control.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experiences in a similar role with in-depth knowledge of Food Warehouse KPIs

  • Experience within the seasonal trends for the vendors and park operations

  • Excellent understanding of space management, food safety, replenishment, inventory management, brand and property positioning, food business development function and food distribution

  • Ability to establish and lead a multi-layered food operations strategy and plan.

  • Proven track record delivering growth with solid analytical / financial skills.

  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work independently and with cross-divisional teams.

  • Adaptability, open to change and possesses a reasonable comfort level with ambiguity.

  • Strong time management in multi-tasking, meeting deadlines and being resilient in working within a fast-moving environment.

  • Solid interpersonal and networking skills

  • An unwavering commitment to food quality with exceptional attention to detail

  • Fully proficient with Microsoft office software, especially in Excel and PPT

  • Excellent presentation skills in front of global stakeholders and external partners

  • Willing and able to work dayside, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays with minor travel, sometimes with short notice to visit offsites or 3PL

Desired Qualifications

  • Passionate about food operations, entertainment and IPs, great interest in driving IP’s empowerment on consumer products

  • Proven ability to pitch various partners with strong team works skills.

  • Experience of working in fast-paced environment will be preferred
