Position Description

At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Analystto join the team inUnion, Ohio. The logistics analyst role will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting and maintaining data and metrics for logistics operations with the goal of driving communication and efficiency through processes. This resource will assist operations to develop, test and implement modifications in the system or technology implementation to result in more efficient processes. This role will also help with the analysis, development, and modification of standard operating processes, data reporting and labor management systems.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES:

  • Work closely with Logistics operations leaders to develop system strategies to improve operational metrics.

  • Assist with process, system design, configuration, and testing of new functionality.

  • Access data from WMS as needed to improve the efficiency of distribution operations by highlighting areas for improvement.

  • Gather key metrics for use by operations leaders to track inventory accuracy, productivity, cost, service, and accuracy. Monthly report creation. Create dashboards and daily warehouse tools to help provide team with clear data to flow orders and inventory.

  • Assimilate data to evaluate pick location suitability, capacity analysis, velocity, sequencing, etc.

  • Pull data to help drive slotting decisions and determine slotting strategy.

  • Help maintain warehouse simulation programming and analyze simulation data to define productivity opportunities.

  • Maintain working knowledge of all business areas to facilitate the understanding of the various activities and processes as well as interactions between the functional areas.

  • Full understanding of REWT Labor Management System. Support data updates and maintain REWT software system.

  • Assist in the direction, research and development of new techniques, processes, and procedures.

  • Provide reports to all areas which allow for management by exception. Large numbers of items are involved and priorities and/or deficiencies must be identified quickly.

  • Ensure that software and equipment used in the facility are aligned with corporate policies.

  • Develop WM “Super-User” skills with full working knowledge of WM in all areas of the DC.

  • Works in a safe and efficient manner, supports and meets Environmental Health and (EH&S) goals.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Profile:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Computer Science related disciplines

  • 2+ years business or warehouse experience

  • Master’s degree is preferred

  • Five years minimum demonstrated AS400 & PC systems data management experience.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Data Analysis: R or Python for data analysis, predictive modeling, data aggregation/summarization

  • Automated reporting: Use VBA or R to create reports then store in Access, SQL Server

  • Must possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and establish proactive corrective actions. Must be able to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Strong problem solving skills.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.

  • Ability to translate technical requirements to hourly users in a positive fashion

  • Methodical process development skills AS400 Query & Crystal Reports PC Skills – Spreadsheet, Access, Project

  • Strong organizational, time management skills, with the ability to engage, to influence, and to execute projects

  • Exceptional computer skills, including prior experience with ERP systems

  • Some travel required (Negligible)

  • Demonstrated relationship building, teamwork and collaboration at all levels of the organization

  • Comfortable in presenting to all levels of the organization including Senior Executives and advise them on project status.

  • Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment. Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.

    Physical REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sit, walk, and stand.

  • Hear and speak to exchange information in person and on the telephone.

  • Possess dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment and tools.

  • Lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
