Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting with the management of the operational, fiscal, and personnel activities of the Event Security and Usher staff during events including overseeing the staffing, scheduling, development, and day-to-day activities.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: includes but not limited to:
Oversees the day-to-day operations, makes daily operating decisions and assigns tasks to staff
Assists with hiring, training, evaluating, and supervising on-call supervisors
Works closely with the Supports Operations department in the weekly scheduling for ushers/ticket takers
Creates work assignments and schedules that maximize shift production and labor efficiency
Delivers department new hire orientation and completes departmental training and performance appraisals
Conducts event pre-shift meetings to communicate important safety measurements
Assists in reviewing current operations, policies, SOP’s, SPP’s, and recommends ways to streamline operations
Responsible for submitting an end-of-event shift report to the Security Events & Transportation Manager
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for shift scheduling including work assignments, training, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees, work trades and shift rotations
Determines shift operating methods, structures and procedures consistent with goals established by the Security department and other related departments
Assists with resolving employee conflicts and issues
Assists Supporting Department Management teams during property events in supervisory roles as assigned
Responds to and follows-up with guest issues and special requests
Assists with compiling detailed records of each show
Ensures that all alcohol laws and regulations are followed and enforced, including intoxication, underage drinking and refusing of service
Supervises the Security Events & Operations staff and assists with planning the security and ushering needs for all entertainment venues Including cross training team members to work both areas
Works with tour personnel to meet the specific needs for all entertainers performing at Mohegan Sun
Maintains the safety and security of guests, performers and tour personnel throughout the property
Acts as an escort for entertainers, VIPs and dignitaries
Coordinates with Mohegan Tribal Police with incidents, investigations and resolving issues, as needed
Supervises safety checks for We Care at entrances
Investigates incidents and documents using the Security Reports Writing system, ensuring accuracy and detail
Oversees all aspects of guest entry & seating for all venues
Works in conjunction with the box office for re-seats and displacements due to unforeseen obstructions
Coordinates with Entertainment Production management for special assignments including re-numbering and seat layouts
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Three years of experience in personnel staffing and scheduling, shift supervision and operational planning
Two years of experience as a venue Supervisor or equivalent
Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to work events and communicate with multiple departments at all levels
Must be capable of interacting with the public in a highly professional manner, including public speaking

Ability to develop, coach, counsel and train Event Representatives
Ability to work with multiple departments and all levels of management to produce efficient labor utilization
Training Requirements:
Must complete all appropriate Human Resources Supervisor Training classes
Understanding of the software and systems used by the VIP and Players Club departments
Intermediate knowledge of Mohegan Sun’s Time & Attendance and Payroll Systems and Manager Self Service systems
Knowledge of various department policies and procedures
SMART Alcohol Awareness
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Office work environment
Must be able to work in a high energy environment with smoke, loud noises and low lighting
Must be able to sit in front of a computer for extended periods of time
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend and stretch for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
