Robert Half Senior Tax Accountant in Tustin, California

Description We are on the lookout for a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Tustin, California. This role involves assisting with the preparation and review of various tax returns, processing tax adjustments, and providing guidance on tax-related issues. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will also be expected to handle special projects and tasks assigned to you.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and reviewing sales/use, business & occupation, and gross receipts tax returns for all applicable U.S. jurisdictions.

• Oversee the approval of exemption/resale certificates from customers and maintain the management system.

• Conduct tax adjustments for valid non-taxable sales in the ERP System.

• Provide guidance to other business partners on product taxability and tax resale/exemption certificates nuances by jurisdiction.

• Prepare resale certificates for suppliers and interpret state and local regulations and legislative rulings.

• Assist with sales/use tax audit preparation and prepare and upload journal entries.

• Reconcile sales and use tax general ledger accounts and develop and implement process improvements.

• Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned. Requirements • Proficiency in CCH ProSystem Fx, Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and SAP S/4HANA is essential.

• Demonstrated experience in Annual Income Tax Provision, Annual Tax, and Annual Tax Provision is required.

• Familiarity with Compliance Audit, Corporate Income Tax, Sales Tax, and Indirect Tax is necessary.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred.

• A minimum of five years of experience in a tax accounting role is required.

• Experience in a senior role or management position is desirable.

• Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Proficiency in tax software and databases.
