Job Summary
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external clients. Perform patient intake and assist provider with patient care both clinical and clerical. Provide professional service.
Essential Job Duties
- Explain treatment procedures to patients.
- Triage patients, serve as a receptionist and assist with patient intake, as needed.
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, reviewing and/or recording medical history, taking vital signs, confirming purpose of visit or treatment and monitor patient care.
- Supports patient care delivery by assisting the Medical provider with the preparation of patients for examination.
- Prepare laboratory specimens, dispose of contaminated supplies, sterilization of medical equipment, administering medications on premises as directed by physician, authorizing pharmaceutical refill as directed by a physician, telephoning pharmaceutical prescriptions to pharmacies as directed by a physician, preparing patients for x-rays, changing bandage dressings.
- Serve as Phlebotomist and perform basic laboratory tests as directed.
- Educate patients by providing medication and dietary information and instruction.
- Assist in medical billing, maintains medical supply inventory, and orders medical supplies as directed.
- Maintains medical equipment by following all operational instructions including preventative maintenance and when necessary, contacting equipment vendor for repair. Assist in medical billing.
- Update and file patient medical records.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate medical transportation.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Director
Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
- High School Diploma Earned.
- Certified or certification eligible to be obtained within 6 months.
- Experience in a medical setting.
Physical Demands
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Mobility to provide patient care and assistance
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to walk short distances
- Ability to lift and carry parcels, packages and other items
- Ability to view a computer terminal
