Assistant Professor in Equine Practice and Surgery

Job Summary

The candidate must have a commitment to the Universitys tri-partite mission of teaching, research, and service.

Essential Job Duties

• Participate in classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, graduate students, interns, and graduate veterinarians.
• Demonstrate creative scholarship and collaborative research activities in large animal medicine/surgery Develop innovative teaching and service programs for the department and the VTH.
• Participate in providing client services to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital ( VTH) in equine surge1Y practice Clinical services also include participation in after-hours emergency duty.
• Develop strong professional relationships with referring veterinarians and participate in state and national outreach and continuing education.
• Participation on college and university committees is expected.
• All other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• DVMor equivalent degree
• Documented education and clinical experience in medical and surgical management in equine and clinical practice.
• Three to four years of post-graduate clinical experience, including a large animal/surgery rotating internship and/or clinical instructor experience in equine surgery in an academic setting will be considered.
• Board-eligible or board certification in equine surgery will receive preference.

• Ability to view a computer terminal
