Mobile Communications America Communication Systems Technician I in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Follow all state and federal safety regulations including OSHA, Tower Owners, and local turfing vendors while working efficiently and productively.

  • Required to work at heights installing telecom equipment and materials on towers, monopoles including mounts, radios, antennas, and microwave dishes.

  • Interprets various documents such as blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications to ensure proper installation of antenna systems using technical expertise.

  • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Accurately complete detailed forms and reports.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:

  • Advanced understanding of Rigging.

  • Connector installation.

  • Microwave installation and aligning.

  • System testing -PIM, ANRITSU, and Fiber Testing.

  • Coax, Fiber routing and handling.

  • Top side and bottom side grounding.

  • Cad welding.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Safety conscious.

YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.

On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to travel 1-2 weeks but limited per project assignment. The employee must have reliable transportation to work and a valid driver’s license. Employment is dependent on the completion of a background check, DOT physical, and drug screen.
