Job Title: Chemical OperatorJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Chemical Operator who can work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have secondary/intermediate education (2 GCSEs) and be capable of using clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas, request actions, and formulate plans or policies. The role involves developing, monitoring, interpreting, and understanding policies and procedures to ensure they align with organizational strategies and objectives. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, prioritizing, and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor, interpret, and understand policies and procedures to align with organizational strategies and objectives.

  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and oversee activities to efficiently meet business objectives.

  • Manage and apply safe systems of work with guidance.

  • Develop appropriate plans or perform necessary actions based on recommendations and requirements.

  • Review and create relevant, clear, and effective reports.

  • Motivate employees to learn, grow, and develop to help the organization reach its goals.

  • Identify, assess, prioritize, and manage risks in the production process.

  • Achieve full compliance with applicable rules and regulations in management and/or operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in microbiology, environmental monitoring, assay, and quality control.

  • Ability to operate basic equipment and carry out routine tasks following strict, detailed instructions.

  • Capability to carry out operational tasks by following established processes within given settings or parameters.

  • Skill in assisting with the installation and repair of equipment and appliances while following strict instructions.

  • Support the quality function by working within strict quality standards.

  • Follow mandatory work instructions, including the use of personal protective equipment to safeguard the environment and ensure safety.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to work unsupervised.

  • Experience in motivating and developing employees.

  • Proficiency in risk management within a production process.

Work Environment

The role is based in a pharmaceutical lab with a clean room environment. The shift is rotating between day and night shifts, with the expectation of weekend and holiday work. A typical work week is 40-44 hours. Initial training will take place during regular day shifts (Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM) before transitioning to the rotating shifts. Fit testing and a general physical are required. The company is committed to employee retention, cross-training, and promoting from within. Shifts alternate quarterly between days and nights.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
