Delaware North Resort Assistant General Manager, Squire Resort at Grand Canyon in Tusayan, Arizona

The Opportunity

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is searching for a full-time Assistant General Manager to join our team at the Squire Resort at the Grand Canyon. As an Assistant General Manager, you will set the standard for service expectations by overseeing all areas of the resort. This leader will be responsible for training and developing your team, managing people, processes, budgets, and expenses effectively, and delivering quality service to guests. The Assistant General Manager will work together with the Resort General Manager to drive the growth and direction of the business, with a particular focus on the guest and team member experience. This role oversees the lodging, food & beverage, and retail departments of the resort. Candidates with multi-department leadership experience are encouraged to apply.

The Squire Resort is a full-service resort property located in the South Rim region of the Grand Canyon. This branded property comprises 322 guest rooms, multiple F&B outlets, retail, and conference services.

Relocation may be available for this role. Low-cost company housing is available for qualified candidates.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $81900 - $110600 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Primary leadership of the front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, and retail departments

  • Assist in establishing and implementing current and long-term objectives, plans and policies, and budget

  • Build and maintain healthy relationships with team members and partners to maintain positive guest relations, ensuing enjoyable and memorable experiences

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of unit management oversee supervision of team members and ensure company policy and procedures are followed

  • Oversee the recommendation and creation of prices and portions for products and services within the approved profit plan

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding liquor, sanitation, payroll, and employment

  • Drive a company vehicle as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, hotel management, business or related field required; equivalent years of relevent experience may be considered in lieu of degree

  • A minimum of four (4) years with a combination of hotel management and F&B operations experience required

  • Prior resort experience is preferred

  • Experience using Oracle Micros and Opera preferred

  • Entrepreneurial skills and skills in financial management and budgeting

  • Ability to coach and mentor a diverse workforce, working independently and as part of a team

  • Organizational and time management skills, as well as written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Proven experience in providing excellent customer service

  • A valid driver's license is required
