C2408: Buyer Maintenance Parts

$19.40/HR and up with qualifying experience

Employment Type: Full Time Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt

The expectations of this position will be to function within a framework of E.Q. within the department and throughout other department interactions. Core job responsibilities include purchasing maintenance parts to support the Bama production facilities maintenance teams. Additional areas of focus include evaluating suppliers, requesting quotes, negotiating prices, reviewing purchase orders, tracks status and expediting past due orders. Works collaboratively with maintenance leads to establish parts inventory for critical/long lead time parts. Attention to detail with proactive follow-up with internal and external customers is critical.

Role Description and Job Accountabilities:

Qualifications:

  • Responsible for Bama US purchasing of maintenance parts.

  • Work collaboratively with the plant leadership, purchasing team, and maintenance teams.

  • Accountable for leading & improving processes for sourcing and optimizing inventory levels.

  • Accountable for developing strategy partnership with suppliers including negotiating price, lead time, T&C's

  • Accountable for tracking supplier performance on cost control, service, quality, and meeting delivery expectations.

  • Drive improvements through continuous improvement of processes and procedures using Deming principles.

  • Monitor department purchasing budget.

  • Possess and demonstrate passion for the industry, job, role, and the company.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Exhibit high ethical standards.

  • Bachelor's Degree and three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow up.

  • Proven negotiation skills'

  • Capable of interfacing with team members and suppliers in a proactive manner to resolve issues & create positive solutions in an expedient and professional manner.

  • Highly technical computer applications with an emphasis, excel, word and production planning.

  • Ability to analyze data, understand SPC and utilize Deming principles to identify opportunities and make decisions.

  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification preferred.
