Position Overview:

Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity on the United States Air Force (USAF) E-7A Program for a Mission Systems Radar/IFF Engineer. The Mission Systems Team is responsible for design, procurement and integration of the full Mission Systems capability onboard the E-7. The Radar/IFF team manages the largest supplier for the E-7 program. For this role, we are hiring for multiple electrical engineers to further develop skills in the following areas: technical supplier management (TSM), equipment manager for the radar subsystems, support of certification and qualification for FAA and MIL, or electrical support of functional schematics and interface control drawings (ICD). This position also has the opportunity to support additional E-7 efforts such as Next Generation Radar, IRAD and RAMP.

The E-7 is the world’s most advanced, capable and reliable Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) platform, having proven itself in operations around the world. The aircraft is designed to track multiple airborne and maritime targets simultaneously. It can provide situational awareness and direct other assets such as fighter jets and warships. The E-7A program is an important program for Boeing with significant growth potential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists in developing and documenting requirements for various sensors and tracking solutions.

  • Performs complex analysis to predict component performance to established requirements.

  • Conducts tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.

  • Collects data on supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.

  • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle.

  • Supports project management by gathering project status data.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Prior experience in a role that required creative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, strong collaborative skills, strong written and verbal communication

  • Experience working to gather, interpret, and coordinate requirements and communicate to other technical associates

  • Prior experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and schematics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry

  • Active US Security Clearance

  • Experience working with suppliers

Typical Education & Experience:

Entry-Level (Level 1): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Note: Basic relocation will be offered for eligible internal candidates.

Shift:

This position is for 1st shift

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range (Entry-Level - Level 1): $70,550 - $95,450. Summary pay range (Associate - Level 2): $85,850 - $116,150
