The Boeing Company is looking for an E-7 Software Display Lead to join the User Experience team located in Tukwila, WA. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Our mission is to provide a high-quality, Tactical Display Framework (TDF) based, user experience to the E7 program. The displays team works directly with our customers to provide our air force operators with the primary access display they need. We need a software Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) for all technical activities associated with planning, development, documentation, technical supplier management, and maintenance of complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems associated with the Mission Computing Software Displays for E-7.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops software test plans/procedures, executing the test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

  • Working knowledge of developing within a cloud architecture, specifically AWS workspaces in a CI/CD environment

  • Provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise for software display projects

  • Build, foster, and maintain a strong relationship with military customers

  • Engage with our military contacts on a regular basis and navigate customer desires against contractual obligations

  • Translate technical language into customer vernacular and in turn, translate the desires of our military customers back into technical requirements for the teams

  • Interact and demo new features and functionality in classified environments

  • Leads development, selection, tailoring and deployment of secure software processes, tools and metrics

  • Leads software research and development projects and Works under consultative direction

  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulation

  • Tracks and evaluates software team performance to ensure product and process conformance to project plans and industry standards

  • Train and mentor the new team members and establishes best practices / design practices for the USE7 MCS software organization

  • Provides technical UX guidance on international contract proposals

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 10+ years of experience with developing user interfaces

  • 10+ years of development experience using Java

  • Experience with MBSE modeling via Cameo/Rhapsody/MSOSA tool and MBSE deployment

  • Working knowledge of Scale Agile Framework (SAFe)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Subject Matter Expertise in Solipsys Tactical Display Framework (TDF)

  • Subject Matter Expertise in Common Display Framework Extensions (CDF-X)

  • Subject Matter Expertise in Primary Access Displays (PAD) on the E7 aircraft

  • Subject Matter Expertise with Displays architecture

  • 1+ years experience in Product Owner Role

  • 1+ years experience with Cameo models

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Travel:

Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 10%.

Relocation:

Summary pay range: $161,500 - 218,500
