Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to set up and operate a CNC Index Multispindle for medium to high volume production. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geometric dimensional and tolerances, excellent math skills, and experience with Siemens controls for lathe machine tools. This role requires a proactive individual who can notify supervisors of abnormal situations, recommend improvements, maintain good housekeeping conditions, enforce safety practices, and complete necessary documentation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a CNC Index Multispindle for medium to high volume production.

• Notify supervisor of abnormal situations for corrective action.

• Make recommendations for improvements in methods of performance of work.

• Maintain good housekeeping conditions and enforce safety practices.

• Complete and maintain any required documentation.

• Participate in PCC Corporate Safety Training.

Essential Skills

• Strong geometric dimensional and tolerances skills.

• Excellent math skills.

• Ability to read and understand machining CNC programs and common 'G' and 'M' codes.

• Experience with Siemens controls for lathe machine tools.

• Understanding of basic tabletop gauges – micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and bore micrometers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Preferably someone out of trade school or AJAC with a strong desire to learn and grow with the company.

• Experience with manual machining, manual mill/lathe, and troubleshooting.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Problem-solving and analytical skills.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
