Position Summary:

This engineering position will report to the R&D Product Support Manager, and shall be responsible for the design, testing, and documentation of new products as well as provide support for engineering and manufacturing challenges for current production. In this role, the candidate shall collaborate with peers across key business units to provide robust and timely solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, assemble, and test hydraulic components and systems.

  • Support project tasks to plan, on time, and within budget.

  • Conduct research through application of sound theory, engineering principles, analytical models (stress, FEA, fatigue, performance), and apply problem-solving methods to support new product development and/or sustain production of existing designs.

  • Write test plans and test reports and lead testing in support of research & development programs; in particular, maintain detailed and accurate design and test data records.

  • Communicate test findings in an accurate and methodical manner.

  • Support prototype component, test fixture, and system-level design & fabrication to advance development of new technology, and apply, evaluate, and optimize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to facilitate inspection and manufacturing.

  • Support development of new technology concepts in consideration of DFM, DFA, reliability, functionality, marketability, and maintenance to exceed customer expectations.

  • Evaluate new technologies, including attendance of industry symposiums, seminars, and conferences as appropriate

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics or Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering technology degree.

  • 1+ years of design or manufacturing industry experience. Lower levels of experience combined with advanced degree work may be considered.

  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software (CREO or Pro/Engineer preferred).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.

  • Ability to understand complex technical problems, collect and analyze data, and communicate critical information to leadership.

  • Self-starter who demonstrates a sense of urgency in delivering results.

  • Ability to listen effectively and build constructive working relationships.

Preferred Job Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Experience in a research and product engineering environment.

  • Experience with hydraulic component and system design, test, and/or manufacturing.

  • Analytical modeling and GD&T experience, ANSYS and MATLAB software familiarity.

  • Familiarity with Excel techniques for efficient data management.

  • Mechanical hands-on aptitude displayed through personal hobbies/projects.

Quality Requirement:

Employees will participate in understanding, implementing, and maintain the Company Quality Policy in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements.

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

Employees will be required to move throughout the building to collect, handle, and process production and prototype hardware.Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position. Up to 10% travel
