Job Title: Mechanical Engineer 3Job Description

The main function of a Mechanical Engineer is to research and investigate the design, functionality, and maintenance of mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes. The ideal candidate will have the ability to create engineering drawings and read and interpret blueprints.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanical devices.

  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.

  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendations to the maintenance crew.

  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment, or software.

Essential Skills

  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.

  • Team player and detail-oriented.

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to the engineering field such as Computer-Aided Design (CAD).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required.

  • 5-7 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

  • Experience with Creo design software.

  • Knowledge of engines and mining equipment.

Work Environment

This role involves working with various tools, equipment, and software, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD) applications. The work environment is collaborative, requiring teamwork and attention to detail. Standard office hours apply, and the dress code is business casual.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00
