Maintenance Mechanic Lead - Tucson, AZ

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, utilities equipment, bulk delivery equipment, blending/mixing systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, train, and develop other mechanics on shift. Organize daily activities and direct resources on the production floor.

  • Lead TPM activities for maintenance department.

  • Conduct shift handoff for incoming shift daily.

  • Backfill Supervisor coverage gaps for vacations, etc.

  • Engage vendors and support resources where necessary.

  • Collaborate with team members and external resources to drive reliability improvements across production lines.

  • Analyze mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical problems and make repairs through adjustments, defective parts replacement, or fabrication.

  • Wire moderately complex control circuits.

  • Check, wire, and troubleshoot high voltage poly-phase and multi-speed motors. Install all types of conduit runs, rigid, stainless steel, and plastics.

  • Calibrate and repair control elements in process loops.

  • Troubleshoot and make minor repairs to compressors, evaporators, condensers, driers, valves, lines and freon levels.

  • Troubleshoot and repair 480V 3 phase electrical systems.

  • Identify problems and completes repairs, with minimal downtime or supervision

  • Perform other duties as assigned
