SCHEDULE:

Candidates must be able to work 1st or 2nd shift, Monday through Friday. 1st shift is 7:00am to 4:00pm. 2nd shift is 2:00pm to 11:00 pm.

SUMMARY:

Works closely with other mechanics and maintenance personnel on aircraft structural modifications, upgrades, and repairs. Locates cracks, breaks, holes, and dents in aircraft sheet metal structures and determines appropriate repairs from technical data to restore components to original strength. Identifies damaged or weakened structures, including skins, stringers, bulkheads, and ribs and develops appropriate repair plan to restore component airworthiness. Reads and interprets blueprints and determines dimensions, angles, and contours in performance of structural repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reports on work order status to the Lead Mechanic.

  • Ensures all work is done according to specification, regulation, and company policy.

  • Ensures that all tools and associated equipment are 100% accounted for.

  • Responds to work orders in a timely manner with emphasis on operations support.

  • Able to communicate effectively and work well as a member of a team

  • Assists with other duties as required to support the customer and mission.

  • Conducts oneself professionally through appearance and conduct.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance is required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Must meet one of the following requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of related structural aircraft maintenance experience.

  • An Associate's degree plus 4 years of related structural aircraft maintenance experience.

  • High School Diploma plus 8 years of related structural aircraft maintenance experience.

  • F-16 experience is strongly preferred, but other fighter jet experience may be considered.

  • Experience in reading, comprehending, and interpreting technical documents, including manuals, technical data, and blueprints.

  • Basic knowledge of various computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook) is a plus.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds to waist level and 30 pounds to shoulder height.

  • Must be able to lift and carry parts, tooling, and other awkward items sometimes weighing up to 50 lbs, including walking up and down stairs, aircraft maintenance stands, and platforms

  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday

  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
