What you will do

  • Checks and/or reviews SEC and FERC financial statements and accompanying footnotes in a complex accounting environment. Ensures timely completion of compliance with regulatory reporting requirements:

o As the lead of certain compliance filings, ensures compliance with U.S. GAAP, FERC guidelines, and SEC requirements, including ESG initiatives and iXBRL tagging.

o Drafts and/or reviews updates to footnotes and other required disclosures for quarterly and annual filings with the SEC and FERC, among others.

o Identifies new requirements of regulatory rule-making bodies such as FASB, SEC, and FERC, among others and works autonomously to research, document, and/or recommend updates to existing internal controls and procedures.

o Participates in the check and/or review of monthly reports/analyses to Management, which may include graphs, charts, and written analyses explaining financial statement fluctuations.

· Supervises and assigns responsibility to other accountants to enhance their professional development and provide them on-the-job training on technical issues.

o Provides timely performance feedback to employees and helps to create development plans.

o Assigns, directs and reviews the work of assigned accountants and/or other employees on projects.

o Designs training materials and provides training to others in a group setting or on an individual basis.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 24 units of accounting from an accredited institution.

  • 6 years of related experience. CPA required.

  • Preferred candidates will havePublic accounting experience.Experience with Oracle or equivalent ERP and/or Workiva platform, including iXBRL. Experience with Microsoft Suite, including advanced Excel skills, and Adobe Acrobat tools, including PDFlyer add-on. SEC Cybersecurity and/or ESG initiatives experience.
