Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists (CSCS) are crucial in enhancing the physical performance of Rescue Operators through expertly designed strength and conditioning protocols. Their primary role is to optimize tactical conditioning and ensure the readiness of personnel by closely monitoring and addressing individual and group performance trends.

Scope of Work:

The CSCS will develop and administer comprehensive strength and conditioning programs tailored to the needs of CRO/PJ or HH-60 personnel. These programs aim to maximize physical performance, reduce injury rates, and ensure quick and safe return to duty after injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development and Evaluation: Conduct initial assessments and design personalized training programs, establishing comprehensive records within 90 days of contract start.
  • Injury Recovery Coordination: Coordinate with medical and command staff to facilitate safe and expedient return to training for injured personnel.
  • Physical Training Implementation: Design and implement detailed physical training regimes focusing on energy systems development, strength, and power enhancement.
  • Monitoring and Adjustment: Continuously monitor and adjust physical training programs for deployed or TDY personnel.
  • Performance Testing: Regularly perform comprehensive physical and functional movement evaluations to monitor progress and adjust training plans accordingly.
  • Nutrition and Injury Prevention: Collaborate with dietitians to provide nutrition education and work closely with medical staff to guide injury prevention strategies.
  • Administrative and Reporting Duties: Maintain detailed records of training, equipment, and personnel performance, reporting regularly to the appointed commander or representative.
  • Equipment and Facility Maintenance: Ensure all training equipment and facilities are in safe working condition, reporting any issues to the appropriate authority.
  • Human Performance Metrics: Provide detailed reports on human performance trends, including pre-habilitative measures and outcomes, to command and medical staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
