Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic manager to lead the resource configuration, integration, and testing efforts for the Extended Day Ahead Market (EDAM) implementation at PGE. This critical role will ensure accurate configuration and integration of grid resources within the CAISO framework, as well as thorough testing and validation of all systems to meet market requirements. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in energy market operations, system integration, and project management, with a proven track record of managing complex, high-stakes projects. As the manager, you will oversee a team of professionals, drive cross-functional collaboration, and play a key role in meeting PGE's 2026 go-live target for EDAM, enhancing our market participation and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Manage Staff Manages a team of professionals and/or supervisors responsible for one or more functions within grid operations ensuring safe and reliable power distribution; depending on area of specialization may oversee any of the following: system reliability, monitoring of power production and power delivery to PGE customers, scheduling and delivery of transmission and ancillary services, prescheduling activities, and/or balancing activities; provides technical management for the team, ensuring that objectives are met and all relevant standards/procedures are followed; ensures that operational problems are identified and resolved; ensures that operational procedures and working practices are current and fit for the purpose.

Technical Expertise Oversees technical advice on grid operations to the department and to the company; represents the department or delegates representation on committees and projects.

Strategy Partners with other managers to set priorities and strategic direction for functional areas assigned and ensures operational goals are integrated and complementary; establishes goals and metrics for operational unit(s) and monitors performance to those goals; ensures operational objectives align with corporate strategy; devises workforce optimization strategy to ensure grid operations function.

Procedures Oversees the development and maintenance of operational procedures within functional areas assigned and ensures all practices and procedures comply with appropriate regulations, standards and agreements. Ensures staff follow change control processes when changing systems or procedures.

Compliance Manages compliance activities; ensures all functional activities operate in compliance with the reliability standards, tariffs, regulations and other requirements; oversees or participates in audits, spot checks and assessments; oversees the analysis of new laws and regulations and their applicability; ensures processes and procedures are adapted in response to changing requirements.

Financial Management Monitors and manages expenditures, ensuring that all financial targets are met, and examines any areas where budgets/expenditures vary from plan; assists with the definition and operation of effective financial controls and decision making.

Resourcing Oversees resourcing decisions and planning for team; partners with HR in the definition of jobs, recruitment, evaluation and selection processes. Professional

Development Reviews organizational development needs and training strategies to determine required learning and development outcomes for the team; provides guidance in the creation of development plans; monitors ongoing progress and provides coaching and mentoring and provides feedback; completes annual performance management reviews.

Education/Experience/Certifications

Education Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other related field or equivalent experience. Experience Prefer eight or more years in positions related to operation of generation, transmission or distribution systems or a related field; experience working with FERC, NERC, and WECC regulatory processes preferred.

Compensation Range:

$125,790.00 - $233,610.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
