Robert Half Staff Accountant in Truckee, California

Description Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance and accounting is recruiting to fill an Accountant role with a growing company based in Truckee. This hybrid opportunity is an addition to staff, the company is growing due to recent acquisitions. Reporting to the Controller, the person in this role will be responsible for:

• General accounting function, which includes inter-company accounting, cash management and reconciliations, financial reporting and balance sheet management.

• Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place.

• Responsible for proper timing and application of revenue recognition. Involves significant interaction with Sales and Customer Service teams.

• Ensure that company financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies in physical and electronic form.

• Responsible for preparing monthly/quarterly/annual account reconciliations and other documents to ensure compliance.

• Maintain a quarterly reporting package for consolidation purpose and bank requirements.

• Ensures that the ERP system continues to operate as required. Involved in validation/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.

• Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is also responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from audit findings.

The ideal candidate will have a BS Degree in Accounting and at least 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in public accounting. A CPA is preferred but not required. Inventory or Costing experience is also highly desirable. Strong technology skills including Excel, and experience working on an ERP system is required. • Proficient in bank reconciliations

• Must have experience in the general ledger

• Proficient in creating and maintaining journal entries

• Ability to manage month-end close processes

• Knowledge of NetSuite software is a big plus

• Experience in balance sheet reconciliation

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) accounting highly desirable

• Experience in the preparation of financial statements
