Job Summary

The Director of Auxiliary, Parking, and Transportation Services provides strategic direction to several of the Institute’s auxiliary programs which include campus hospitality services, the vending and residential laundry programs, the Campus Card Office, the Parking and Transportation Office, Central Receiving/Stockroom, Mail Services and Pat’s Barn. The Director will develop and implement quality/process improvements across the department that can be used to improve productivity, increase overall operational effectiveness, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field

• 10 years of progressively responsible related experience including five years of progressively responsible managerial experience

Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a university setting

• Experience managing significant food service operations

• Experience developing RFP's, negotiating and managing contracts

• Proven management and leadership ability.

• Ability to communicate and interact with diverse customers and constituencies.

• Requires strong interpersonal skills.

• Requires demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

• Requires ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data.

• Requires a demonstrated strength in budget management.

• Requires planning, organizing and effective time management skills.

• Requires ability to anticipate and solve problems.

• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.

• A working knowledge of computerized systems/software appropriate to auxiliary operations.

• Requires excellent customer service skills.

• Demonstrated experience developing effective partnerships and working in a collaborative manner.

Shift

Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Starting Salary/Rate

Expected hiring range: $120,000 - 150,000 per year

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate’s salary will be determined based on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate’s qualifications, experience, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer’s good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
