Russell Sage College Assistant Professor of the Practice of Nutrition and Dietetic Internship Director in Troy, New York

Contract length: Full-time, 10-month

Department: Nutrition Science

Manage all aspects of the dietetic internship program, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Teach/direct internship practicum courses (NTR-530, NTR-531 and NTR-532)

  • Timely submission of accreditation fees, reports and other documentation required by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND-)

  • Policy and procedure development that adhere to college and ACEND- Accreditation Standards

  • Academic advisement, evaluation and counseling of interns enrolled in program

  • Recruitment and retention of dietetic interns

  • Maintain and update curriculum on an ongoing basis ensure accreditation requirements are fulfilled

  • Recruitment, retention and training of preceptors

  • Collect and assess required outcomes data for accreditation

  • Maintenance of intern records

  • Maintain regular communication with program faculty, preceptors and advisory board

  • Timely submission of required documentation supporting graduate's eligibility for CDR credentialing exam for dietitians.

  • Manage program budget

  • Maintain and update program website

As a full-time Professor of Practice (POP), the Dietetic Internship Director must demonstrate successful teaching and advisement, service to the department, college and community as well as professional development and scholarship.

The estimated base academic year salary for this position is $54,000 commensurate with experience.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must have earned at least a master's degree, be credentialed as a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and have a minimum of three years professional experience post-credentialing.
