Aptiv Corporation Vehicle Test Engineer in Troy, Michigan

Vehicle Test Engineer. Troy, MI.  Perform testing and validation for autonomous driving vehicle programs for OEM customers. Create test procedures, plans, and test reports to support all vehicle testing activities. Conduct closed-course vehicle testing on test tracks and proving grounds. Specify instrumentation and equipment on test vehicles. Perform test driving and data collection. Support the Test Architect Team in system requirements analysis, test case mapping, and linking. Design, create, and implement automated data analysis scripts. Analyze data collected during testing to determine if vehicles meet federal/internal requirements and make recommendations to internal design teams based on findings. Write test reports to document results of testing and communicate issues found. Lead on-road vehicle testing for data collection and product validation. Design test routes, interface with vehicle operators, detect data trends, and perform root cause analysis on issues found. Requires Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering and one year of experience performing durability testing for automotive products, preparing PPAP documentation, performing data analysis, managing DV/PV testing and analysis, and supporting customer communications regarding product design and validation activities, including ADVP&R and DFMEA.
