About the Role

MASSIV Automated Systems, an advanced technology-based division of Magna International Inc., specializes in the design and build of automated/robotic assembly lines for the automotive industry. Our areas of expertise include hemming (robotic and table top), laser welding, and assembly line welding. Our customers include other divisions within Magna and the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) such as General Motors, Chrysler and Ford.

We are a true global supplier to the automotive industry! Our assembly lines provide a diverse range of automotive products such as doors, hoods, liftgates and underbody parts to customers in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe.

The Process Engineer is responsible for the development and preparation of system and manufacturing assembly concepts(build sequences), layout, design, cycle time charts, capacity and efficiency calculation and working station documentation. ACAD, MS Office Required. UG & knowledge of GM Closure Systems is an asset .

Your Responsibilities

• Development and Preparation of GM Closure systems. Manufacturing assembly concepts (build sequences), layout design, cycle time charts, capacity and efficiency calculation and working station documentation

• Development and improvements of manufacturing cells, processes and concepts for assembly system including Logistics and Quality

• Clamping Plans and development.

• Support Massiv Automated Sales Dept, with process requirement documentation & supplier quotes.

• Support Massiv Automated Systems Project Managers.

• Continuously adhere to and apply the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Cosma Way of Thinking in all aspects of position and interaction with others

• Understands and follows established rules, procedures and policies relating to position

• Ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and by following all safety policies and procedures

• Appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality

• Manage supplier through process validation portion of the projects

• Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner

• Consult your Manager if you are not 100% sure how to perform tasks in a safe manner

• Follow all safety rules, standards and procedures at all times in all areas

• Ensure that your work area is kept clean, tidy and organized at all times to prevent accidents and produce quality products

• Report all unusual circumstances and actively participate in and support Continuous Improvements

• Follow all ISO Standard Operating Procedures to ensure world-class quality products are supplied to our customers.

• Perform other related duties as required.

Who we are looking for

• Technical education e.g. technical school, college or special studies (mechanical/electrical engineering).

• Body-In-White Welding and fixture design experience.

• Min. (10) years work experience in Body in White automotive assembly and SPOT/GMAW/LASER. welding, SPR applications, Induction Cure, and Adhesive/Sealer applications.

• GD&T knowledge and interpretation.

• Proficiency in ACAD, MS Office is required.

• Experience with General Motors, UG & Process Designer an asset.

• Excellent understanding of 3D CAD design.

• Excellent English skills (fluent in spoken and written, presentation skills).

• Flexibility and willingness to travel and have valid travel documents.

• Excellent leadership skills, self motivated, team player. Manage supplier & work well with direct General Motors customer.
