POS Systems Administrator – Hybrid, Troy, MI

Summary:

The POS Systems Administrator is the primary contact for our software systems. This person will be a member of the team that designs, develops, and implements business solutions with emphasis on accuracy, speed, efficiency and flexibility. The administrator is responsible for ongoing system maintenance, trouble shooting, escalation, reporting and training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance and support of POS system(s), subsystems and mobile App

  • General maintenance and support of systems used by the Events Group.

  • Troubleshoot issues that may arise within the system(s),

  • Provide clear and accurate communication and reporting to all levels of management.

  • Design, implement and maintain the system in a way that advances the corporate strategy and business objectives.

  • Implement user friendly solutions for reporting and tracking to allow unit managers easy access to needed information.

  • Partner with software vendors, on-site end users, IT Management, and other team members to identify areas for process and software improvements.

  • Address issues in a timely manner, involving IT support as necessary.

  • Partner with team members to transfer knowledge and ensure systems are successfully implemented at locations within the designated timeline.

  • Provide ongoing system training for new users.

  • Additional projects should business needs call for.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Food/Hospitality Industry is a plus.

  • At least 1 year experience with POS software applications.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Business or Hospitality; Associates degree with 2-3 years’ experience in systems or equivalent professional experience.

  • Results oriented and flexible and steadily follows through on tasks.

  • Able to find a balance between the business requirements and meeting client requests.

  • Absorbs new information quickly and translates key points into positive outcomes.

  • Believes in and routinely practices direct and honest communication and actively shares information openly with those who need to know.

  • Seeks collaborative resolution of issues and seeks others’ points of view and encourages independent thought; listens well.

  • Superior time management/organizational skills.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Self-directed with a strong work ethic.

  • Ability to absorb new information quickly and translate key points into positive outcomes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with Volante, Avanti, EventMaster, Caterease or FSS.
