TEC Group Inc LASER SCANNER OPERATOR in Troy, Michigan

Summary: The perfect candidate is someone who has background in or currently working with a portable Hexagon arm that has the Aspire software on it since that is the hardware and software.

  • Some sort of laser tracking/scanning background or working with a portable arm such as a Faro, Hexagon or something similar to that. If you have just laser tracking background that is probably fine as well.
  • The software preferred is Aspire but Polyworks is a very similar software that is fine as well.
  • It does not require either but the operator will most likely have Verisurf or Spacial Analyzer or PC-DMIS which I am sure will all do fine since we will send the candidate to Hexagon for training on this specific piece of hardware and the software.

Description:

  • The initial role will be for scanning parts taken off of a military vehicle and preparing these scans/point clouds to be put back into a design software for overlay to the 3d modeled parts. At some point there may be scanning required for the entire assembled vehicle itself or maybe portions of it but that would not be the initial requirement.
  • Scanning tools or machined parts is a requirement and most likely what a laser operator already does.
  • At some point they would need to also have the ability to best fit fabs & putting machine starts on them for the machine department but that is something that they can be trained on at a later date if they do not have that background.
  • Ability to read prints/technical drawings and knows GD&T.
  • Microsoft package and putting reports together for the quality buyoff.
  • Knows ISO/AS requirements or has had exposure to that.
  • Knows how to utilize standard check equipment such as calipers, gages, etc. that are standard for checking parts and pieces.
