This hybrid role will be a blend of remote and weekly in person work at our office in Troy, MI.

General Summary:

Under minimal supervision, the Lead for Customer Analytics with Healthy Populations performs project work of a complex nature. Project work may include technical analyses or may require facilitation of a large multi-disciplinary group. The Lead may work individually, as lead consultant of a project team, or in a consulting capacity for projects not directly assigned. Performs analyses related to area of technical expertise and may train other staff members in these areas. The Lead of Customer Analytics serves as a technical consultant to other departments, prepares reports and recommendations for management, and coordinates implementation whenever possible. They may supervise tasks of Consultants, Senior Consultants or Analysts. The person in this role communicates regularly with Senior Management on specific projects and services as a resource and consultant across the system and sites to design and produce relevant information to inform strategies essential to the success of population health initiatives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for analyzing complex financial and clinical scenarios to support informed decision making including financial, clinical and operational improvements. Responsible for gathering and interpreting claims, clinical and administrative data to build effective financial models, makes reasonable assumptions, and reach appropriate conclusions. Leads cross functional efforts and provides actionable recommendations to leadership and key areas across the company.

  • Supports the total cost of care analytics component of population health by conducting extensive analysis of cost and utilization data and providing reports and recommendations to leadership and internal customers

  • Acts as project lead for customer analytics initiatives, working with internal customers to develop and manage project plan, analyze data, design reports, and coordinate presentations

  • Works with internal business customers and cross-disciplinary teams to determine data needs and to enhance the use of strategic analysis. Collaborates internally to ensure intelligence is shared with appropriate groups and individual.

  • Creates and updates comprehensive customer models including, but not limited to cost and utilization projections and data trends.

  • Conducts and presents analyses that drive improved delivery of value-based care.

  • Works with IT partners to diagnose, correct, and validate any issues with the data populating business intelligence tools.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree, required.

  • Master’s degree, preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years leading complex projects. (e.g. cross-functional work- groups), required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in extensive data analytics required. Health Insurance or Healthcare industry, preferred.

  • Microsoft Office including advanced Excel (pivot tables) and PowerPoint skills required.

  • Power BI data visualization tool experience preferred.

  • Milliman MedInsight experience preferred.

  • Claims data analytics preferred.

  • Experience with Epic preferred.
