Aptiv Functional Safety Manager in Troy, Michigan
Job Summary: Managing and tracking the execution of functional safety (FuSa) related activities in a project.
Your Role:
Support new opportunities quotation process and creation of a Development Interface Agreement(s)
Lead the development of the Safety Plan (FS Plan) based in impact analysis from an established baseline If appropriate
Assign the WPs in the FS plan to the appropriate roles in engineering competency teams according to the APTIV FuSa RASI and APTIV Product Development Process
Provide FuSa technical guidance to the engineering competency teams assigned FuSa related WPs and activities in the FS Plan
Work with the assigned project manager to integrate key WPs and activities of the FS Plan into the project Master Plan
Work closely with the project manager to monitor and track the FS plan execution. Maintain an internal issue list and escalate issues per APTIV FuSa escalation process
Support project change management and deviation Management reviews.
Work closely with the FuSa Audit and Assessment team to develop a project tailored Audit and Assessment plan
Compile the Safety Case for the project and coordinate and support the Safety Case WPs approval reviews
Support the development of FuSa Release for Production
Act as the primary point of contact with the customer functional safety team
Provide an FuSa based assessment report for key suppliers
Coordinate the project Functional Safety Board (FSB) meetings (if established)
Provide guidance to the Production, Operation, Service and Decommission teams for any FuSa related topics and issues.
Authorities:
Develop and formally release the following FuSa related work products: -Project Safety Plan -Project Safety Case -FuSa Assessment of key project suppliers
Report formal FuSa status for any project
Lead the project Functional Safety Board (FSB) meetings (if established)
Primary point of contact with the customer functional safety team
Your Background:
Analysis of customer safety requirementsfor clarity for projects needs
Experience in analysis of Functional Safety Requirements to develop system level Technical Safety Concept and Technical Safety Requirements, in collaboration with engineering competencies
Performed safety analyses with FMEDAs, FTAs, etc. Understanding of methods for safety methods and testing techniques
Understanding of detailed safety requirements, including diagnostic, software and Hardware requirements
Experience with ensuring the System safety requirements are implemented, and traced in Software and Hardware with linkage to appropriate safety analysis, Design Artifacts, and V&V artifacts
Experience with support of confirmation/verification reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycle
Experience within System reliability analysis: FMEA, FMEDA, FTAs
Experience with Agile method and practices
