Responsible for developing and expanding relationships with strategically important contacts within the assigned customer accounts; responsible for achieving strategic new business acquisition targets and associated commercial objectives; represent the entire range products and capabilities to customers and serve internally as the 'voice of the customer' to ensure requirements and expectations are met or exceeded; coordinate the overall relationship with the customer in the assigned company product or commodity area; develop and maintain positive relationships with Purchasing and Engineering, ensuring optimal quality and feasibility; provide engineering support and educate customers on capabilities, strengths, and products, ensuring optimal customer satisfaction and future customer programs; identify and acquire strategic new business according to the corporate Sales and Acquisition Plan, as well as company strategy and ensure alignment with commercial objectives; initiate and provide engineering support to the quoting and costing processes, including obtaining competitive market information, using procedures for establishing prices, documenting the basis for the pricing, and providing professional written quotations to the customer; coordinate global quotations with other subsidiaries; negotiate and verify accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of all purchase orders and contracts, comparing them to the associated quotes; ensure that resources will be made available in a timely fashion and delivered as per the terms of the contract, following corporate procedures to introduce the orders or contracts into the process and systems; utilize SAP, CIM Database, JIRA, CRM, IHS, technical drawing interpretation, process documentation development, project management, APQP, SCCM, e-shifter, and SWS to perform duties; provide engineering support to corporate product development process, particularly in relation to commercial requirements, employing program and document management systems; initiate and coordinate commercial aspects of engineering changes and capacity studies; set customer pricing and purchase orders, ensuring customer POs and systems are consistently aligned to facilitate timely and accurate payments; maintain Bump Charts and related Customer Price Management documents such that information can be shared with the customer at any time; responsible for tier one accounts that are associated with assigned company products and commodities; provide engineering support to manufacturing and logistics on issues of quality, delivery, and SREA; review customer sales and marketing figures with sales planning on a weekly and quarterly basis; collaborate with Product Line Managers, the Advanced Business Development Department, and the Cost Estimating Team to generate annual cost saving and cost sharing proposals to the customer that will meet corporate "supplier engagement" objectives; keep the Finance Department informed of changes to commercial agreements that affect the business case, and respond to requests for business case updates and spending curves on a periodic basis; and ensure that all quoted costs, including ED&T, Tooling, and Spot Buys, are invoiced according to the prescribed process.

 

Location: Troy, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;

 

Salary: $98,700 per year;

 

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

 

Experience: Three (3) years in the position above, as an Account Manager -- Sales, as an Industrial Engineer, as a Sales Engineer, as a Quality Engineer, or in a related occupation;
