Summary About the Position: Serves as a Quality Assurance Specialist within the U.S. Army Public Health Command -Pacific, responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with the development and implementation of quality systems for Public Health Command - Pacific laboratories. This position is located at Tripler Army Medical Center, HI. This position has supervisory responsibilities of 15%. It oversees three employees located in TAMC, JBLM, and Camp Zama. Responsibilities Introduce new sampling and analytical procedures. Gather information relative to changes in laboratory operations and procedures. Serve as the focal point for external and internal quality assurance audits of laboratories. Conduct surveys to ensure adequacy of safety practices, environmental procedures, accuracy and condition of technical references. Conduct customer satisfaction surveys to identify positive and negative quality trends. Oversee Quality Assurance employees. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting internal quality assurance audits; establishing quality assurance policies and procedures; and implementing corrective actions on quality problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service Quality Assurance Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
