The Quality Assurance Specialist responsibilities will include understanding customer expectations and ensuring that the solutions delivered meet quality standards. Our ideal candidate has at least 2 years' experience creating detailed test cases. This candidate should apply a methodical and inquisitive mind-set to their testing duties, which includes testing beyond the obvious, and uncovering evasive bugs. The successful candidate works well within a cross functional team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works with Product Managers, Owners and Development Team members to support organizational objectives.

  • Ensures accurate and streamlined communication with team members, supporting the coordination of QA activities.

  • Works with business analysts and developers to ensure acceptance criteria and test cases are effective and logical.

  • Writes and Executes test cases and identifies and recommends additional test cases as needed.

  • Provide validation for requirements, design(s) and new software/product components

  • Experience with work item management systems (JIRA is preferred)

  • Communicates progress effectively to product teams, following written policy and procedures.

  • Iterative Testing Experience (Agile/Scrum experience is a +)

  • Participates in and supports planning and task estimation/sizing as part of an Agile delivery team

  • Can create detailed test cases, and preform manual testing during different phases of the development lifecycle

  • Retains and understands the product functionality to anticipate any intersecting components or processes during the testing phase. Takes initiative to call these instances out and test accordingly.

  • Performs functional level, system-level integration and regression testing to ensure product readiness.

  • Follows and advocates for quality-centered engineering best practices

  • Assists in the investigation and reproduction of customer reported issues to help determine root cause

  • Contributes as requested to special quality-related initiatives to improve process, investigate and qualify tools.

  • Participates and provides product demonstrations of unreleased product features during UAT.

  • Contributes to the review of UAT test plans upon request, providing guidance on test coverage.

  • Contribute to QA’s standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and a common QA methodology.

  • Experience creating detailed test cases, following testing best practices and SR QA guidance and best practice recommendations.

  • Methodical & Inquisitive mind-set for testing beyond the obvious, uncovering evasive bugs

  • Experience with moder web technologies/frameworks

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

  • Highly motivated, able to learn quickly, and accountable for committed results.

  • Adept and passionate for learning the latest testing technologies, tools, and framework.

  • Debugging skills: knowledge of SQL for analysis and debugging

  • Demonstrated understanding of the software product development lifecycle

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent field

  • 2-4 years relevant work experience

Some travel to the office or elsewhere may be required for team meetings, client meetings, etc. We are accepting applications on an ongoing basis until filled. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $65,000-82,000.

Compensation:

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role below. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.
