The Children's Home Society of New Jersey Part Time Clinician/Social Worker II in Trenton, New Jersey

All social workers in this category must have the ability to use their training and experience constructively in social work practice (diagnostic and treatment planning skills must be demonstrated), be willing to conduct him/her self according to the ethics of the profession, be interested in increased skills and knowledge, be able to record, organize and execute the duties assigned, and be able to work cooperatively with other members of the staff, agencies, and community. Primary Job Responsibilities:• Carry an average caseload of 4 families.• Provide weekly individual and /or couples’ counseling to parents whose children are in foster care, as well as therapeutic visits for the parent and child. • Counseling and parenting group are geared towards identifying and resolving the issues that resulted in placement in out of home care.• Prepare and facilitate parenting group.• Meet with DCP&P monthly for case conferences.• Participate in necessary meetings (litigation, Family Team Meetings).• Complete monthly summaries and assessments as needed.• Monitor parents’ progress with services and overall stability in order to assist DCP&P in supporting a permanent plan for the child. Education Requirements: Master’s Degree from an accredited school of social work, a Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Associate Counselor, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker.Work Experience Requirement: Must have a minimum of three to five years’ experience working successfully with at risk families in an accredited social service agency.
