Corewell Health Network Administrator in Trenton, Michigan
Job Summary
Responsible for the tactical deployment and support of the Corporate Network Infrastructure at hospital and clinic locations. Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots network equipment and wiring. Monitors and troubleshoots the network-related hardware and software to prevent network downtime and maximize system performance. Escalates issues to next level, recommend and implement network configuration changes. Oversee and coordinate vendors for cabling and Network Lifecycle Refresh projects.
Essential Functions
Works with customers to develop both critical and non-critical systems that are a part of the Corewell Health technology infrastructure.
Takes ownership of system implementations/upgrades as well as system issues to provide excellent customer service and ensure that staff can provide seamless care to Corewell Health patients.
Provides technology oversight for project planning and execution. As a project team member, accountable for project tasks, schedules, change control and project-related status reports. Coordinates work with team members, as required, to ensure successful delivery of all technical aspects of assigned projects for self and others.
Takes ownership of the operational support for assigned systems, including leading the creation of written support documentation and facilitation of knowledge transfer between teams and individuals involved in support.
Leads collaboration with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents and problems using established DS procedures for problem and situation management. Leads the efforts in the creation of relevant technical and support documentation.
Effectively communicates to Leadership, status and resolution plans for complex technology issues.
Maintains knowledge of wide area and local network distribution and access layers as well as networking concepts (such as TCP\IP, DNS, DHCP).
Skilled in creating and supporting network MDF, IDF, and demarcation points.
Conducts low voltage cable vendor management.
Able to work an on-call rotation about once every fourth week.
Qualifications
Required
Associate's Degree or equivalent
2 years of experience typically gained through full-time experience and demonstrated maturity in systems engineering (designing, implementing and supporting system and infrastructure services), with exposure to the complete systems development lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, support and service level measurement)
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification
