Guthrie Housekeeping - Environmental Services - Per Diem in Towanda, Pennsylvania
Position Summary: Under the direction of the supervisor of the Housekeeping Department performs duties related to cleaning and sanitizing all areas of responsibility. Maintains a safe work environment. Maintains quality control in accordance with established standards and practices. Experience: Some experience preferred, but not necessary. Able to read, write, and understand written and oral communication. Utilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injuries and follows standard precautions.
Education:
High school grad or equivalent preferred.
Essential Functions: Compliance with rules and regulations of all federal, state, and local governments is a requirement of employment. Performs quarterly, monthly, and weekly project work. Fills in daily checklist and returns to supervisor at end of shift. Assists in training new employees within area of responsibility. Reports any mechanical problems and places work order in computer. Performs floor care to include: Waxing, shower stripping, buffing, vacuuming, and carpet extraction. Keeps informed of all codes throughout the facility. Attends department meetings. Performs designated inservices on computer. Follows proper body mechanics while performing job duties. Wears ID badge while on duty. Maintains assigned areas clean and sanitary by following department policies and procedures. Assures all storage closets are locked and secured. Empties trash and picks up linen using proper procedures. Attends five‐minute meeting daily. Keeps informed of fire, safety, and disaster programs. Attends designated inservice programs. Reports any problems or concerns to supervisor or department manager. Orders proper par level of supplies for designated work area. Uses safety procedures to protect self and others. Understands and follows standard precautions while performing job duties. Cleans all equipment used and stores in proper area. Follows seven‐step process for room cleaning. Assures proper communication and cleaning for all discharges. Other Duties: Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor or department manager.
