About You

We’re seeking a result-focused, innovative, self-driven, and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as our Production Scheduler. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will plan and coordinating the production schedules of chemical batch manufacturing and packaging department to ensure efficient operations. This role involves Optimization of resource utilization (Labor and Equipment), managing production timelines, to ensure production schedule is planned and adhered to meet customer demands while complying with safety and quality standards.

In addition, you will:

  • Develop detailed production schedules to meet production goals and on time Shipments.

  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and quality departments to ensure availability of raw materials and resources.

  • Optimize production sequences to minimize downtime and changeover times.

  • Allocate labor and equipment resources effectively to meet production targets.

  • Create and adjust production schedules based on order priorities, equipment availability, and staffing levels.

  • Communicate schedules and changes to relevant departments and stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule preventive maintenance and reduce production interruptions.

  • Ensure production schedules comply with industry regulations and company quality standards.

  • Work closely with the quality control team to address any production issues that could affect product quality.

  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.

  • Analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance production efficiency.

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.

  • Address and resolve production scheduling conflicts and issues promptly.

  • Develop contingency plans to manage unforeseen production challenges.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and solve production problems.

  • Generate regular reports on production performance, including schedule adherence, output levels, and resource utilization.

  • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on production data analysis.

Requirements

You should have:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related field is required.

  • Certification in production and inventory management from APICS is preferred.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics. (JD Edwards Enterprise-1 preferred)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Planner and Scheduler role in production / manufacturing environment within a chemical or batch manufacturing environment.

  • In-depth understanding of chemical batch manufacturing processes and workflow.

  • Understanding of production planning principles and best practices.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.

  • Strong analytical abilities to interpret production data and make informed scheduling decisions.

  • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple production schedules and tasks simultaneously.

  • Effective problem-solving skills to address production conflicts and develop contingency plans.

  • Time Management - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with various departments and stakeholders.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, quality, customer service and maintenance.

Salary Range: $69,000-$104,000

Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. The base salary range represents the low and high end of our company's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range. The range listed is just one component of our company's total compensation packages for employees.
