Description

General:

  • Demonstrate a “Community for All” philosophy.

  • Ensure adherence to LARC policies and procedures.

    Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Perform site visits to ensure that managers are providing quality training to new staff.

  • Safeguard client funds and conduct routine audits.

  • Audit and review residential documentation on a weekly basis.

  • Review residential DSP training profiles on a monthly basis to ensure they are current.

  • Assist the managers and Residential Director with preparing for licensing and inspections.

  • Help to ensure that all locations remain in DDS compliance as well as DPH compliance (where applicable).

    Assistant Residential Director duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assist the Residential Director with on boarding all new managers.

  • Assist with completion of redeterminations and monitoring assets.

  • Serve as a trainer in designated areas.

  • Become a trained investigator and complete investigations of abuse and neglect as needed for the agency.

  • Hire direct support professionals for the residential case load.

  • Hold a valid and current medication certification.

  • Accept and perform on call responsibilities between the managers and the Residential Director.

  • Must have the ability to work different/additional shifts or days to provide necessary coverage especially in urgent situations.

  • Assist managers in providing coverage for doctors’ appointments as needed.

  • Attend meetings in place of or in addition to the Residential Director.

  • Demonstrate the ability to solve conflicts as they arise.

  • Enter program attendance and payroll accurately and as needed.

  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring process of new staff.

  • Assist with maintaining the physical plant of all locations.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • It is required that the Assistant Residential Director have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in human services or related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a managerial role within a group home setting is required.

  • Must hold and maintain a current and valid Connecticut driver’s license.

  • Must be organized, flexible, and demonstrate an ability to work independently.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule at various residential sites and programs as needed.

  • Ability to maintain assigned work hours.

  • Must maintain all LARC required and state mandated training certifications and re-certifications.

  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

  • Basic understanding of EVV and Therap.

  • Must have a level of comfort with using tablets and smartphones.
