Senior HR Generalist

Position Summary

Under direct leadership, the Senior Human Resource Generalist works to conduct the day-to-day functions of the Human Resources department including employee relations, HR compliance, employee onboarding and offboarding, leave management, compensation administration, and HR reporting and analytics, in a manner that demonstrates, “Everything is Important.”

This position is onsite everyday in Torrance, CA.

The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Spanish.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitates performance management and employee relations programs including employee reviews, disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

  • Partners with leaders to develop HR programs in support of current business needs.

  • Provides project management and facilitates change management related to assigned initiatives.

  • Provides coaching to managers on leadership and HR related topics.

  • Makes policy recommendations based on business needs and to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance. Assists with the implementation of US policies and procedures and maintains the US employee handbook.

  • Drives compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices.

  • Stays current with trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and makes recommendations for policy and program changes

  • Assists with the development and maintenance of employee job descriptions, providing salary grade and FLSA analysis.

  • Prepares required daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and special reports, as requested, such as turnover, overtime, training costs, dismissal rates, and compensation.

  • Administers employee leaves of all types, including FMLA related leaves.

  • Conducts exit interviews, identifies trends, and recommends changes for improvement.

  • Responds to management and regulatory inquiries and reporting requirements such as such as EEO-1 reporting.

  • Edits and publishes employee newsletters and other employee communications.

  • Provides guidance and mentorship to members of the People Services team.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

Required education and/or experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience

  • Five or more years of human resource generalist or business partner experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal employment-related laws and regulations.

Preferred Education/Experience and/or Certification:

  • Professional HR certification

  • Successful experiences in manufacturing and/or working with a non-exempt workforce.

Compensation

The starting salary range for this position is between $85,120-110,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined by skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
